Just got my 2005 S-Crew Lariat and was wondering if anybody has any idea how the MP3 works? I am new to the MP3 technology so any help will be appreciated.
MP3 is a technique to compress recordings. This permits perhaps 200 songs on a single disk. Generally these are created on a Personal Computer by downloading songs from sites (paid for of course!). Or by reading commercial CDs on the PC and "ripping" them to the PC in MP3 format and then writing then back out to a new disk using one of many software tools.
It really is not as complicated as it may seem. If it is consult any teenager!
i just bought a 2006 lariat with the MP3 player and 6 disc changer. burn MP3s to a CD (either by buying from an online service like iTunes, or ripping your CDs to your PC then burning them to a MP3 data CD) and it will play those files. the beauty of it is that you can get hundreds of songs on an MP3 disk, as opposed to the 15 songs on a CD. the MP3 player in the truck does seem a little touchy.... takes a long time for the player to read the disks and sometimes ejects the disks as 'bad disks'.
This happens to be an old thread, however stick around and someone will be by to answer your question.
