It has been a year since we received the news of ours son's death. I talked with one of the instructors at the school he was going to today. There seems to be a great deal of abuse of alcohol with our young people now days. My wife and I tried to set a good example for our sons over the years but the pressures that young people are under today is unbelievable. I hope the junior members on the board here take it to heart. Drinking and driving Do Not Mix. I know that Joey was out that night trying to convince himself that he was alive and was trying to experience it to the fullest. Find a friend and be safe. As of late we have had two students at a local community die from over consumtion of alcohol. Live life to the fullest but please live it wisely at the same time. Our young people are our greatest asset and I hope to watch them succeed. Take care.
My heart goes out to you and your family. It's terrible how one short lapse of judgement can take the life of someone who is really just beginning to live it. In the teen age years everyone is certain that they're invincible, and it's amazing how fast something tragic like that happens.
i have not lost a child yet and i cant imagine your pain my son is just 14 and we are in the process of looking for a car or truck for him. i was 18 and young and stupid working pouring concrete fell asleep driving to work wrecked a pinto basically tore the car in half the long ways because i was asleep just tore a bunch of holes in me and when it was all done my stepfather talked to me and he said "I WANT YOU TO THINK ABOUT WHAT YOUR MOTHER AND I WOULD FEEL IF YOU HAD DIED TODAY" and he turned and walked away and that changed my life forever i hope to god never have to go thru what you have had to deal with and i hope that if i have to that im half the man that you are!!! god bless and i am sorry for your loss
I feel for you & your family!
We almost lost the older of my younger twin sisters because of that same reason. She had to learn the hard way unfortunately, sometimes that's what it takes to make them wake up & smell the coffee.

Thanks for the responces and it wasn't my intent to gain simpathy. Yesterday was the one year anniversary of learning of his death. I took my wife to the onocologist yesterday as well and we found out she has a low grade of lymphoma. She had a A-port cath. put in today and on Monday she starts chemo. Someone once said that the Lord allows only that which you can stand. We are told that she won't be cured but that it can be put in remission and that she can live out a full life. That's all we can hope for. Thanks for your thoughts and conserns, Prayers are optional but are much appreciated as well. Take care everyone and live well.
hope you can find some amount of comfort in our sympathies even though it can never be enough. My 18 year old ''baby'' has just joined the army and though we are very proud of him we are terrified as the same time. I cannot imagine having to deal with the ultimate loss. Bless you and your family
