Question Predator Performance Module

Hello to everyone.

I have a 2002 F-350 Powerstroke and am looking to add a few new horsepower, and have been told the Predator Performance Module is one of the better units to invest in. Plugs in line with the exhisting ECM no flash memory or changes to the present computer. Also if you have trouble you can take it out easily.

My question is how may of you have this unit and how has it performed for you. I pull a 16,000 # fifth wheel and occassionally I run a little short on power and would like a little more to make it over the hills.

Thank you for your input.

I just invested in the Diablo Predator. It gives a LOT more power even in the lowest setting. Plus it has the ability to read error codes whenever the need arises.
I HIGHLY recommend that you get guages, big air and exhaust, no matter what you get. When you hop up the engine on these trucks they can put out some serious exhaust heat, which will melt your turbo, piston crowns, etc. I can push the EGT to 1100 degrees with my truck on the lowest setting if I really work it hard. I have the biggest air and exhaust that you can buy right now.
That's still within the 1250 degree limit by a wide margin, but still....

I may be wrong, but isn't your F350 rated at a maximum of 13,300 lbs towing? Also, be careful if you don't have a Class A CDL, which is required if your truck GVW and trailer weight reaches 26,001 lbs.

Kwik I think he was talking about the Predator Module made by Dr. Performance not the Predator Diablo tuner. Papa I am currently running the Module it does install very easy just unplug the ICP and plug in the leads on module then tap into the MAP sensor. Can be installed in less than 5 min. I'm sure there are better things out there but the one I got was free so I aint gonna complain

I might be one of the few people that have had experince with the Dr. Predator and the Diablo Predator.

My Father has the Dr. Predator in his '03 7.3l CC f250, my '00 has the Diablo Predator tuner.

The Dr Predator will make your CEL come on like mad! Even the slightest throttle will make it light up like a Xmas tree. That doesn't bother me much, but what does is that you never really know when to believe the CEL untill its way too late. The other thing that bothers me is that the stupid thing is WAY over priced for what you are getting. Simple mods like the 10k mod are much cheaper and probably alot safer. My father paid a whopin' $500 for this box. I can tell you for a fact that the Cummin's guys absolutely despise a DR. Predator module (the ones that have any motor knowledge) on any diesel site you see. To me that's a good indication that it is something to stay away from.

The Diablo predator tuner (any tuner for that matter, but I prefer the diablo) is a MUCH better investment (and a heck of alot safer for the motor too!). Rather than me re-engineering the tuner aspect, I'll provide some links.

I've had the Dr. Predator on my '00 for about a year and a half now and have never seen the CEL come on or any other problems whatsoever. I may trip an SES when I really get on it but that's about it. Granted it may be a glorified 10k mod and not give as much a performance boost as other products out on the market, but I've never had a problem with it. Does anyone know if you can stack it or use it with a Predator?

I love my Predator but I will eventually be changing to a more wild chip by Jody Tipton. I'll still keep it in my glovebox too for the code reader. The Predator is very easy to use and is great for mild modders. Whoa, 16k 5th wheel??

we have a pintle hitch trailer (receiver, not 5th wheel), and with the track loader and a bucket, it is well on its way past 16000#. the F-350 V10 pulls it fine. we normally use the F-550 because it is alot heavier in the rear. i am hesitant of pulling it with my rig because of no break controller on my truck. im sure it can get it going well, just stopping would be the hard part.
