I have a 67 F-100 and am looking to find a lower numeric ratio differential. The upullit where I am a regular has a sale this weekend on diffs for $20.
As it happens , all the truck are picked over and the Econoline vans are left.
None of the diff have their tags!. They may have been removed by someone who was looking (?!).
Anyway- I basically have found vans with these door sticker axle codes:
Anyone know what these 13 and 16 9" axles are for these years. I sure as heck can't find any decoding info on this or any site. I have a Clymer's manual for Ford vans for that year and it doesn't even mention the diff , let alone talk about the codes or ratios.
Well, call me a liar. I looked around a bit more on this forum and it appears that the code 13s are probably 2.75 and the 16 is 3.75 . Anyone think otherwise. I already have a 3.70 and an OD tranny with .78 gearing. I think the 2.75 will be too low so I'll likely have to wait for something else.
