No, the oil leak is caused by the seal, which has no effect on the pressure. If your rear main is leaking and your oil pressure is low, you have 2 different problems.
Low oil pressure is usually a sign that your bearings are worn.

actually one can help to cause the other but Dan is correct low oil preasure is bad bearing, and if they are bad enough they could have allowed the crank to move enough to take out the seal, and/or the bearing material could have gotten into the seal and worn either it or the crank sealing surface or both.
Basically your backwards. a leaking seal won't cause low oil preasure but the causes of low oil preasure could help cause leaking seals.

That is what I was thinking. I am also thinking it is the came bearings because the oil pressure will rise when you push the throtle. I had a similer problem with my 351m. Im going to put rod and mains in and see if that helps. If not I think I will put the 351w I have in. That should run alot better then the 289.
