I have a 99 explorer that has a dealer installed remote starter. We were led to belive it was a ford remote starter system when we bought
it, but of course that was not true. It is a code alarm system.
It has lock and unlock with remote start and panic. The problem I
have is that when you push the button to start, it cranks real short
time and does not start.
Anybody have any insight?
I would have to return to that dealership to have it repaired by them,
and we have not had a wonderful relationship with the service
dept.
Thanks-

Hi i had a suzuki grand vitara, and the same exact thing happened, i dont know exactly what it was called but they had to add something right next to the carb intake and it gave a longer crank enough to start,it worked fine after that . I wouldnt have nothing done like that at a dealership.Bring it to an alarm place they will know what its called . Hope it helps
Sounds like the crank time needs to be adjusted and to be honest too the factory installed code alarm systems used suck they break all the time and the warranty sucks on the system it doesnt cover nothing!
