Hi guys, on my 1998 F150 my high beams stopped working. I could pull the switch back and flash to pass would work but no high beams when in the forward position. Well checking it out yesterday it seems low beams aren't working either it's just the DRLs that are on. So.... does this point more to the multifunction switch (which seems a bit loose in the column) or the headlight switch??? thanks

 

I would suspect the switch as I have replaced the multi-switch in my 97 Lariat already. My low-beams would go off while driving at night....a dangerous situation in my area....although the high-beams and turn signals worked. I bought a new switch for 50 bucks(approx.) and installed it in less than 45 mins., as well as I remember.

A bad multi-function switch will create the problem you describe. Just make sure that the new one is for an F-150 and not an Expedition, unless you plan to install a rear window wiper anytime soon
