Can't remember if the shut-off ball valves are optional or not, anyways I highly recommend them, Makes the filter swap much cleaner.
DO NOT use SCA charged filter in your 6.0 (worth mentioning again). If you've already done so your coolant is no longer good for 100k. You will need to continue to test and add SCA until your next flush. SCA or tap water turns your "gold" coolant into regular coolant.
After reading my post again, I guess it might have been confusing to where someone may think to order a coolant filter with the Supplemental Coolant Additive (SCA) for the 6.0 motor. That is not how I meant it to read in that I just wanted to elaborate that Dieselsite has both to offer... Sorry if it confused anyone... Ford's 6.0 is geared (no pun intended) to run WITHOT the SCA's.
And since I'm here , ... I wrote this in another place and I'm wondering what other's may think... The coolant filter was the first thing I added to my new truck. After installing it and taking a closer look, I think the ball valves would have been better placed at the places where you installed the "T" fittings. Since they are located at the filter, it could render you stranded if you were to get a hole in the "feed" or "return" line... Make sense? I know it would probably cost more, but.... I'm also thinking the same for my Oilguard system on the stock filter end.... I'm definitly not bashing here, I'm glad I have them both and would do it again....
BTW - In case anyone is wondering, I DON'T have a blender that runs on 220v either....
