Warranty Transfer ????

Looking at buying a 2005 Escape for my wife the vehicle has 2500 mile and is brand new private sale from an estate. Would like to know what is involved with transfering the warranty from previous owner to us.
Thanks in advance.

I tried searching Fords website with no luck on this one

In Canada you have to go to a dealer and see a business manager and he has the forms to make the transfer. I fyou can go to the dealer where it was purchased that may be in even better as they would have the previous information. Hopefully it is the same way in the U.S.

There's no need to transfer the warranty in the U.S. as the warranty goes with the car, regardless of how many owners it has. It's definitely a good idea to make sure Ford knows you're the new owner, otherwise you wouldn't get any recall notices. I believe you can do that online through the MyFord homepage- try this link:
