I've run a Diablo chip and a DP tuner chip on my PMR's for over 55K miles so far and still running strong. My PSD has not been in the stock tune since 22K miles. I usually run in the 80 hp econo-tune.

I've only flipped the 100 hp on for those rare occasions.

Jody Tipton, DP Tuner is my recommendation...... 4 or 6 position. Custom tuning available.

Did Jody Tipton, DP Tuner have any comment about his tunes with PMRs? One tuner actually persuaded me not to get his chip and stay with my Predator because of the PMR I had. And he knew of many who had vented blocks. But here I've only seen 1 posting of this happening. Your engine is the same year as mine, but my results may be different. Sure would like to get rid of the speed limiter. Funny thing though, all the trucks I've raced also have the speed limiter, so we both can't pull away from each other unless there is a hill, and then I do pull away.

i just came back from doing some errands... i got on it while getting on the highway...! 28lbs of boost..! egts were just under 1200... and the truck took off like a bullet..! i'm using the 85hp tune on the predator, and guess what... no ses light and no codes..! does the wicked wheel reduce the exhaust backpressure somehow...? i used to get that code when i would run any boost over 26lbs... anyway... this mule runs soooo much better now than when i bought it...!

Will I'm happy for you and you fixed it yourself!
How about the smoke? If none, you may want to try the 100hp tune now!

i was thinking that myself...! i hate to do it though... that 85hp tune makes a TON OF POWER AND TORQUE..! and i can USE IT ALL..! also... i don't have a huge black cloud of smoke... just a healthy dose... and it isn't really black... now... if i go to that 100 hp tune... lots more smoke, that means wasted fuel and a bunch of soot in my exhaust... and i have a hard time keeping the tires from smoking on that tune..!

Jody runs his own tunes with Stage 3 Injectors and he has PMRS in his truck.

Powdered metal rods. They replaced the forged rods that international used to use. Everything from mid 01 model year to current has PMR's

You should see my stick shift belch before the turbo spools. Even on the 60HP setting. The 85 is embarrassing. Haven't even tried the 100 yet. Need to get that boost regulator in so I don't set the SES light all the time.

I'm with you on too much black smoke. It was fun, but I'd rather have enough air to burn it all with no worries about egts, and not waste fuel. Fuel is expensive now! I'm very happy with my Predator now. It's perfect with my setup. Getting a chip is tempting and curious what it is like. But will hold off for now. If you do get the chip in the future, and you like it, I may do it. I had mod craziness for 6 months after I got my X, but now I'm done. Can't think of anything more than maybe powerslot front rotors in the future. Now I'm just going to drive it normal, enjoy it, and maintain it. BTW it's going to hit 100,000 mi soon too. Great truck and just getting broken in!
