yes u can run a chip and programmer together becuase i am doing it right now and have been for a year and it works great. i run a edge evolution and an edge ez chip. i have had no problems what so ever
Yeah, I'm pretty sure you can run a tuner with another chip. I've read a thread before talking about how the tuner controls one thing about the fuel injection and the chip controls a totally different aspect. I know for a fact though, that each won't make as much power as they do alone. For example, you don't take the Predator 100 hp setting and add the chip's 100 hp and get a total combined power of 200 hp. Hopefully, someone who knows a lot about this stuff will chime in.
No, you cannot run a chip and a programmer. The chip will over-write any programming in the PCM. You can stack fueling boxes like the Edge EZ with a chip or programmer, but if a chip is installed, it is what is controlling the PCM.
The six gun I think is a chip. A fuel box is usally mounted under the hood, connected to the IPS. The 10K mod is this type. A chip reprograms the PCM as does the tuners and only one can be used at a time.
It is, I run a predator 100hp and the Six Gun on level 3. Six Gun adjusts a few things that the predator doesnt, and it will also defuel to keep your EGTs and at level that you can program in. and it look cools.

Maybe I'm using the wrong terminology. By tuner, I'm talking about the handheld programmers like the SCMT, Predator, PPIII, Evoloution, etc. These devices can not be used in conjunction with a chip.
Things like the six-gun, Edge E-Z, or any other variation of any resistor mod can be used with either a handheld programmer or a chip.
What is the best solution for a daily driver, who tows a huge amount of weight (only 10x a year) and wants to stay as close to warrantiable as possible?? Maybe something I can remove for warranty work? Something that won't send off my "check engine" lights all the time... etc
...thanks, and sorry for the thread jack. But it seems you all know what's up!

If the warranty is of prime concern you might want to leave it stock. The problem is the only way to safely run any power enhancing device on a tow vehicle is to lay the groundwork. Namely a larger than stock exhaust, improved intake, and a set of gauges (pyrometer, boost, trans temp) to monitor it. These things are a tip off to look for a power enhancer.
As far as the best solution for your rig....I'd go with a hand held programmer like the Diablo Predator on the tow (lowest) setting. Once the performance tune is set back to stock it leaves no traces.
