ITP makes a great boost regulator. It mounts right on the boost sensor bracket, and is preadjusted to 22 psi, but still adjustable with the ****. Got rid of both my EBP code, and high boost code. The blowoff valve type didn't work for me, and still tripped the EBP code, and sometime the high boost code.
But I still get defueling above 90mph. At WOT at 80 the boost starts to climb to 28psi, and then suddenly drops to 15psi and stays there, and I'm doing just over 90mph in OD. I tried to find my max mph, and the needle just touches at 100mph, but never goes to 0. Going to 0 means you're doing at least 105 mph. My only code is the P1211. I'm also thinking the speed limitor is still there with the Predator installed and causing the defueling. My Predator is set to 100hp.
Good luck with your explorations, and looking forward to your results.

Well, with no codes, then nothing to worry, especially if it is not defueling on you when it comes on. It could be a sensor going out of range and then back into range, so it does not leave a trace. keep on trucking!

i run the diablo predator also, and i can't turn off my speed limiter... when i get a cust chip from jody... there won't be a speed regulator on ANY of my settings, unless of course i get a "de-tune" setting for the rare occasions when the wife drives my truck..!

For those looking into a Boost eliminator, really need to look at our DRV++. We have done extensive testing on these and offer a life time warranty. Read the Q&A section on why this works the best. We have not had one fail so far, and have many happy customers.

I second the ITP boost regulator. I have had no more issues with my truck since I installed one. I do not get any de-fueling and I also do not have a speed limiter, thanks to my chip. I can hit 33psi and it will stay there to well past 100mph. By then the egt's are around 1400 degrees.

I have the single boost relief valve,, i think i got it from Black cloud diesel a year or so ago. I can still set the overboost\SES light. Have tried adjusting it up and down and no change. At the time everyone said that(BRV) would fix it. Not sure if I am not adjusting it right or what,, I have screwed it all the way in and almost backed it all the way out and it still trips the light. Even now with no tuner\chip if i really stand on it about the time it shifts into OD the light comes on, and thats right at 25lbs of boost. Before with the tuner about half throttle it would throw the light everytime. Maybe I dont have it adjusted right? or maybe i should have bought the regulator type instead of the bleeder valve style?

Get the ITP regulator and never worry again about the SES due to overboost.

i have the dual valve setup, i'm sure i loose some boost when it pops, but even with my new SUPERIOR WHEEL, (from blackclouddiesel.com, sorry for the shameless plug..!), i don't have ANY trouble getting over 25 lbs of boost...! i'm no expert, but, do i need more than that...? and, how much can my stock, (other than the wheel..!), compressor take..?

Depends on what you want to do with the truck. I think you tow with yours, so I don't think you need more boost. When you start getting higher boost, you have to start beefing up other engine components. I have read where the stock turbo is only rated for 25psi. I am sure there is a fudge factor is there somewhere. Mine sees 33psi on rare occasions. I am looking to put a BB turbo on along with some bigger injectors.

The dual valve setup is much more reliable. If one valve is sticky, then the other valve will pop first. When my single valve setup got sticky I got the code, and then had to shoot it with WD40 to free the valve.
Can't wait for you to get the chip. I'd like to hear the difference between the Predator and chip. Maybe you can still keep the Predator installed. The chip overrides the tuner. So when you go to the stock setting, that will be the Predator tune. They even have a setting, where you can let it idle, but won't drive so you can fill up the gas with the engine on without any worries about someone taking off in your truck. Also a high idle setting for cold weather.

I don't think there will be any comparrison between the Predator and the chip. I know for me, with the other 2 I ran in the past, they were nowhere near my twildman chip. It was like a night and day difference.

I got my Predator on 100hp with no smoke because I have a BB turbo. So in comparison to a chip setting, what would that be like on a chip? I heard the difference between the tuner and chip hp to hp comparion is way different.
Also I still have powdered metal rods since my truck is a 2002. One reason I'm afraid of getting a chip.

You have one sweet looking ride there. I ran a superchips tuner and a TS performance flip chip in the past. The TS had a lot more get up and go than the Superchips set on the same "advertised” hp setting. The chip I have now has even more, a lot more. This is just me, but I would not run a high hp flip chip with the PM rods. Some folks are doing that and have not had problems. I think it was MRBASS, on here, that threw a rod out the side of his block with the PM rods. Not saying it came from the mods he did, but you never know.
