My '67 F100 had no cowl lace weatherstrip when I got it, just a row of holes in teh firewall below the rear shut line for the hood. I bought a new cowl lace kit from LMC. The spacing of the clips is a little off, but I can fix that. Should the cowl lace molding be installed with the angled lip facing up? or down? Also, should the molding be installed with adhesive as well as the clips that are attached to it? Thanks for any advice ad help. David G
David G, send that cowl lacing back to LMC. It is NOT correct for 1967's. I went throgh the exact same thing with my '67.
Get the correct one from Dennis Carpenter... it's about the same cost.
The one from LMC is for later models but they haven't figured out yet that it doesn't fit the 1967. The 67 has little plastic push snappers that fill the holes when you mount the rubber. Where the LMC has these crappy metal pins that the holes aren't even the correct spacing for.
But regaurdless, the rubber mounts with the flat part up then the mounting deals downward.

My neighbor bought one of them cowl lacing and it doesn't seal real good. I went and bought an $8 generic weatherstrip from Autozone and it seals much better. It's cross section was shaped like a circle sitting on top of an upside down T.
