I went to town today and picked up a bottle of seafoam to see if it might help milage or the rough idle any, seems like i only get about 7mpg these days. Well I put a hare over a pint in via vacum line and idle got a little better but performance really improved, What kind of results have you guys had? Should I also put a little in the oil?
If you put some in the oil it will clean any crud that has built up, but don't run it too long like that. The crud will end up in your oil pump screen.....
I'll let the oil get a little bit low, then add a quart of Rislone treatment to the crankcase about 200 miles before an oil change, I think the rislone treatment helps clean the crankcase a bit, frees up rings and things.
I have only used seafoam as an air intake cleaner, I spray it in the TB or do the vacuum trick,, seafoam does a good job!
I went to town today and got gas. Put 20.071 gallons in with 180.1 on the trip od which equals 9.022 I couldn't belive it! Seafoam made about a 2 mpg improvement. I put the seafoam in the vacum and gas and the oil right before i changed it. Does 2 mpg Improvement sound that realistic?
With seafoam yes. That stuff works wonders. Make sure you clean the entire inside of you throttle body with it. I did it to mine and didnt have to get into the gas as much to get more response.
