56 tail light repair

56 tail light repair
Has anyone used one of the socket repair units to replace the socket in the taillight of a 56? Do they press in like the original? My tail light is good except for the bulb socket and I was able to press it out (actually I knocked it out with a plastic hammer).

i replaced the front parking lamps on my 50, they orginally took single element bulbs. i replaced the sockets to accept 1157 bulds (dual filament).
the replacemrnt sockets were slightly smaller, so i stripped the guts outta them(the socket assy), and barazzed them onto the lamp housing,
