t-cases revisited

Everyone is always talking about how wonderfully tough the NP205 is. However, it is big, heavy, and ugly.

Has anyone beat on the newer superduty cases? I've heard the some of the newer New Venture cases are just as tough as the 205s with better gearing..

I would take a SD NV271 t-case over a 205 any day of the week. We might even run one in our truggy if we can cram it between the framerails.

I don't know anything about them. Anyone got any specs like ratios, weight, etc? Is it all gear driven?

Only thing I'm not diggin' is the electric shift on that 273 but the 271 is manually shifted and looks like a good low range too.

Guess my 205 is ugly too sighs does that mean i'm gonna have to pull it clean it up and chrome it To make it look pretty? Ivan Ford uses both of those Tcases in there SD they are chain driven but are good for like 17,000 lbs of torque.

yea, the super duty t-case is rated for more torque than the 205, but it is much more vulnerable because if you hit it on the ground or a rock the aluminum case will crack. PLus you cant twinstick it.

i wish they would hurry up with a lomax 3:1 kit for a ford 205....and have much larger gears like they did for the chevy version

Clock it and run it above a flat belly, no worries from rocks then

I havent beat on a SD T-case, but i beat on BW in my 96F-250 like there was no tomorrow. Dyno proven 620 FT/lbs.... i would assume the SD t-case can take the same beating.

I like twinstick. I like heavy. I guess I don't mind ugly as long as it has the skills!
