If you are going to spend the money, get an Escort 8500 X50, or Valentine One. By far the 2 best performers time and time again.

I dont want a Valentine One. What make the Escort better than the BEL?

I have a Escort 8500 and it works great. Escort and Valentine are the big 2. Everything else doesn't seem to touch them. All the radar test recomend the Valentine or Escort.

The Bel Pro RX65, and the Escort 8500 are a toss up as far as performance. At least, in the tests that I have seen. I have the Escort and like it. I think it is better because it is designed a little better. I have had Bell radar detectors in the past. I've found the controls to be a little kooky on them from time to time. I haven't messed with the new Bell PRO. I think the Escort is designed very well and the controls are easy to use as well.

Both the Bel and the Escort seem very good. They are very close in performance, so I still dont know witch one to get the Escort 8500 X50 or the Bel Pro RX65?

Now I have narrowed it down to the Escort 8500 X50 and the Bel Pro RX65.

I know more people here have compared these two detectors. I need some more comparisions. I dont want to spend $300 without knowing that I got the best detector fro my money.

Skip the Bel - they don't age well. The Escort and the Val1 are a toss-up - but the Escort is $100 less.

I have used Escort products since they were the size of a laptop computer (seemed like that anyway); my most recent is the 8500. I have been very pleased and highly recommend them.

I have no experience with the Bel, so I can not offer an opinion.

I have not had a dector in a few years but in the past I have had both Bel units and Escort units. Overall I thought the Bel units were trash compared to the Escort... then again things can change in 5 years, but I'll never buy a Bel again.

Valentine One. The designer has been "in the biz" for decades.
Move to Michigan and you won't need a radar detector. There are speed limits but they are NEVER enforced so really, there are no limits
