Picked up my truck April 30th, have 9150 miles so far, can't keep the smile off my face! Best vehicle I have ever owned.
Pulls like a train, gets almost 14 mpg in LA city driving, hit 20 mpg when driving at 60 on I5, 17 mpg when towing my 3000 pound pop-up trailer and the truck loaded with the Family and camping paraphenalia.
Pulled a newer Duramax by over three truck lengths after a CHP let traffic go from a 'Round-Robin' on the 118 freeway and exited. (I lifted at 75 mph)
The first time you start the truck the morning after you pick it up you'll know you made the right decision. The first time you plant the throttle and the boost kicks in, HOLD ON!!
Paul100, I too had was worried when I traded my 99PSD for my new F350 lariat CC because of the problems I had read about on this forum but everyone here made me feel welcome and good about my purchase. I have now had the truck for over a month and have 2300 mile on it and could not be happier. The truck is outstanding, same as my 99 was. Not one small problem to date. Enjoy your new truck and takr care of it as you would any new truck and you will have nothing but pleasure from it. Congrats. georges
Got mine in June, have 4,500 miles on it so far and a solid 3,000 of those miles has been towing a 10,000lb + toy hauler up and down the mountains of the West, sometimes in as hot at 110 + temps. Zero mechanical probs so far and the fit, finish, and ride are awesome. This is hands down the best truck we've owned, and this is the 1st Ford I've ever owned in my life.
I was scared to death at 1st reading this board but when I started asking folks that owned 6.0s that I knew, saw at the diesel pumps, friends of friends etc etc not a single one out of at least a dozen I talked to had any problems. Like said above, keep them maintained and drive/pull the living crap out of it, it's what it's designed for.
Nearly one month and 2700 miles on my 06 350 Lariat crew cab. I spent some time on this site before my purchase, truth be told, it did make me hesitate before making my purchase. During my hesitation I spoke with 3 owners of 05 psd and two mechanics from different dealerships. My simple inquiries and conversations with current psd owners erased any doubts this site may have given me. I love this truck and fully expect it will meet all my expectations. This is an awesome site! Take delivery on that new truck and don't look back!
