[updated:LAST EDITED ON 03-Jul-02 AT 04:20 PM (EST)] Well I think a 9" will have a "9" on it. Ratio will be noted as something like 3.50 (P) the P makes it traction lock.
That's it for my knowledge.
the tag is hard to read but it is off a dana 30 front axle and from what i can make out reads...
C8LA BC
602982-1 3.54
so I assume it has 3.54 gears but I dont know the year of the axle, the truck is a 1978 f150 2wd 302 originally but now has a 390 and has been converted to 4wd, the axle is drum brakes so I know it is not out of a 78 but i need to get a replacement axle or fix it, the driver side shafts/yokes are destroyes the hubs are blown off and the kingpins and applicable bearings for them are totally shot. I can get an axle for free that is from a 1972 truck but i am not sure if I want to keep the drum brakes, but if it is in good shape i might better just stick it in there. Reguardless if i decide to fix the current axle i would need to know the year of it and as of yet i can not figure it out.
