dash lights
Ok, new user here. Just bought a 79 F 250 4x4 with rebuilt 460. Darn nice truck, new paint, looks good. Anyhow, dash lights are protected by a 3amp fuse. I niticed on my first night drive that I had no dash lights. So first things first I replaced the fuse. Turned truck back on then lights and problem solved. However, got in it again fired it up turned lights on, but no dash lights. In short, dash lights work at every fuse change but fuse burns after light switch is shut off again. Can anyone save me a little time with this one. Thanks.

pull out your gauge cluster unhook the wire harness and spedo cable clean up the contacts on the circut board with a fine steel wool , inspect the harness for exposed wires check the fuse box wires for exposed wires, and check the headlight ****ch wires, looks for black or exposed copper(if exposed wrap with electrical tape) MAKE SURE THERE IS A GOOD SOLID GROUND. those are my ideas. post pics of your truck also (if have not all ready)
