Our '02 Explorer with 50K miles on it needs the brakes done. The front rotors look great and may not need turning. Plenty of pad left but I will change the pads anyway to be similar to those on the rear so as not to change the braking bias. The rear rotors will need replacing as will the pads. I am considering aftermarket pads and rotors. What are your recommendations? I have used performance friction pads on my PowerStroke and been very pleased with them. I have heard that Ford switched from carbon-metallic to ceramic pads on this vehicle because of noise issues. What has been your experience. TIA Haul_n
Searching this forum I found the following information:
Torque Bracket (aka Caliper Anchor Plate) 75-92 ft Lbs.
Caliper Pin bolt Front 21-26 ft Lbs.
Caliper Pin bolt Rear 20 ft Lbs.
Rotor Shield 90-125 in Lbs.
Lugnuts 100 ft Lbs.
Can anybody confirm these are the correct values for an '02?
