Overhead console problems.

Overhead console problems.
hello all.
I have read in the past about poor soldering on the circuit boards causing overhead monitors to go out. I had one go bad and did not check the soldering because it was before i had read your posts on the problem. But one of the mech. here at the ford dealer does a lot of my work on my diesel 250 at his home hooked me up with a new one real cheap but told me that they have alot of them that goes out because of the heat off of the roof. there is no insulation above the circuit board and when we put the new one inhe put some insulation on top of it and said that would help alot. I thought I would pass this on to all of you, Dont know if it is true but stands to reason. cant hurt. Thanks for all the good info guys.
