The overhead console temperature/compass display is not working at all. It started working intermittently, then died completely. I have power to the circuit board. I have read that loose/missing resistors are probably the problem. Problem is I don't see any problems with the resistors, but I don't know if any are missing. I see solder pads that looks like resistors may be missing. Does anyone know if schematics are available? Does anyone have pictures of the circuit board that would be the same?
Dont know about schematic availability, but if there are solder pads that are empty, you likely do have some missing parts.Thing is,if these parts merely vibrated out, they should be rattling around in the case,or at least on the floorboard of the truck somewhere.
If memory serves there isnt alot to this board assembly.I do remember finding one at a local salvage yard a year or so back, and(for a short moment) pondered the idea of putting it in my 97XL......never did.....
You need to take a close look at those empty solder pads, and be sure that there was something actually soldered into them in the first place....Ive chased Radar problems like this only to find out that a previous mod had removed various components....
