Check Engine

My check engine light came on, so I scaned it and found the code, P1131-O2 sensor no switch (lean). I cleared it and then about a week later got the same code. It doesn't tell me what bank O2 sensor. I unfortunatly am stuck working at a Chevy Dealer, so I don't have any Ford experiance. Does my truck only have one O2 sensor? I know its got to have more than one on a 97. Any help would be great.

Sorry to hear you are working at a chevy dealer! Yes it will have two up stream and two down stream.Need to find a better scanner to tell you which bank an if it is up stream or down

OBD2 is generic, really.

A GM guide should tell you what 1131 means. Should be the same thing except for manufacturer specific codes.

A Chilton Manual for your vehicle will list specific codes. That would be cheaper than buying a new scanner

Phillywilly p1131 is a after the fact lean condition code (that means you really have a rich condition) and the computer based on inputs it's getting shuts down fuel trim switching.
Causes are
bad o2 sensors or the wiring to them
bad injectors
bad fuel regulator causing high fuel pressure
bad egr valve
