Talking Wild speculation

Okay folks. Feel free to post your wild speculations of what is going to be included on the 6.4l here.

Mine are as follows:
A 6.4l V8 heavily based on the current 6.0l PSD.
Twin sequential turbochargers.
A fuel delivery system similar to the current setup.
Mated to a 5 speed Torqshift.

The floor is open...
Tell us what you have heard/know or just take a wild guess

All I definately know is that you all should be saving for this one.

Rumor I heard is a twin sequential turbo V6 based on the International VT275 V6. 230 HP, 460 ft. lbs torque. Should handle 18,000 lb GCVWR and allocated for the F150/Expedition platform. Die hard Excursion fans might have a diesel SUV in their future after all.....
(just thought I'd throw this in here since we are talking about new engines....)

How about hydraulic assisted stopping that stores the energy and launches out of the hole. I think the Tonka had it. I figure by the time I’m done with my 03’ the new power stroke will be a diesel charging batteries. It is all marketing. The next year is always going to have something a little better. I heard Stacy David on Trucks talking up an old 70’s jeep. It’s all how one looks at things. On the other hand, if I didn’t have a 03’, a 07’ would look great! Ford rocks!

Since the Torqshift basically already has six gears, I bet when the Allison comes out with six, Ford will simply make a slight programming change to use all the gears all the time and call it a six speed. There wil be no need for physical changes that I see, just a slight programming tweak and a name change, probably 6R100.

I'm with Big on this one, too.

Wild speculation

I just wish it was camless....but it will be a few years on that. Not too long, though.

how about a 7-speed (auto or manual)? At some point one of the big three is going to have to 'one-up' the others. My bet would be on Ford.

No way. It will be common rail. The current injector design can't reliabily meter out the fuel in multiple shots.
