The main and rod bearings in their now should be stamped what size they are. STD, .010, .020 etc. If your crank is STD and no grooves in it most likely it can be polished and stay at STD. But as ford390gashog stated the machine shop will tell ya what's needed. Most shops will mark or stamp on the crank where it's at when finished for future reference.....G.

thanks, that will help alot. sounds like next weekend I'm just gonna tear the engine out of truck, and see where it takes me. oh yeah, by the way the C-6 that the 360 is attached to is gonna get a good going thru. I know that there strong trany's so i was just going to get a stock rebuild kit. of course that was the idea with the engine too, but that has all changed. any suggestions?

www.larrysperformance.com/data/enginekits.html has master rebuilds that include everything... it seems to me that would be cheaper than taking by block and crankshaft to the shop.

oh yeah, sorry that last post prob. should have gone to a diff forum.

Im not having any luck finding a 390 crank and rods. Who's got spares they want to get rid of?

Shoot there a dime a dozen at the Bone yards...Try finding some good parts for a 406 or a 428 or a 427 at a bone yard...you'll be looking for years.....LOL.. JMO...
