hey, i am new to this forum, my names kyle an im from so.cal. i have a 2001 f250 v10 blah blah blah lift blah 5000watt system blah 4 10's and 2 t.v.'s. i need performance. i have a perfomance long travel lift, now i need engine performance. i would like to know what mods others have done? what are the best possibilities? i currently have a hypertech programmer and just the k&N filter not fipk kit. dont get me wrong the stock v10 is great but at 65,000 miles i would like to beef her up again.... goal is atleast 500hp torque??????? i know whipple and kenne bell make roots type superchargers and paxton and vortech make centrifigul superchargers, i have talked to STS turbos about making a custom turbo system. i dont know what the best option would be. there all around the same price except turbo alil more for custom dyno tuning. has anyone heard of any one who has done or is capable of doing V10 internals??? like pistons, rods, crank, cam lifters..... etc... also any comments you have on the tranny please. mine definetly needs a major rebuild. thansk for you time.
ok, thanks. i wil try and get in contact with those guys. any other places that woul;d specialize in v10 or any other options for maybe a motor swap??? i want a kick *** haul *** superduty....
You might try calling Redline Performance in Cali. They've made our last 4 engines (see below for specs) for our sandrails and can pretty much do ANYTHING you want. Be prepared to pay though, the most recent engine ( https://www.ford-trucks.com/user_gal...=87706&width=2 ) cost $30k+.
These dyno numbers are HP to the ground
Rotary w/ nitrous (425hp w/o nitrous)
Twin turbo Northstar (475hp on low boost, 580hp on high)
Turbo'd 3.2liter Subaru (was 550hp when we started, tuned down to 400hp low boost/475hp high boost)
Supercharged LS2 (estimated 600hp on pump (92 octane) fuel, project almost done)
I try acting normal all the time. It doesn't work . People still think I am nuts.
Our normal IS abnormal, sad aint it ? But then if we were normal, we wouldn't be BSEG fanatics. So even though the V10 is an unusual engine, there are 2 types of V10 owners. Normal guys, who know they wanted a smooth running, efficient engine with good power but couldn't tell you another thing about it. And then the uh, shall we say, just slightly (or more) off center yokels who hang out here talking, salivating and dreaming about this slightly unusual motor.
Rods and pistons should be the same as 5.4 stuff. Cams would have to be custom made. The cork is the small runner intake which gives good trq, but signs off early. Our ports are the same as a 4.6.
