well most of California wild hog has no season; its open year round save 2 or 3 counties. i do all my hunting on private land owned by friends in the cattle and farming business. i do this because i have two young sons who like to go too and i'd rather be safe and hunt where there aren't a bunch of drunk idiots with guns running around. i also have a depradation permit under s.b. 134 law that allows me and my friend to hunt at night and not have to use tags- its fun! used to hunt with pitbulls but im to old and out of shape for that anymore.

I'm a quail hunter.

I've hunted almost everything there is around here, except turkey's and coons, neither of which I intend to pursue. I did oreder a deer permit this fall, I may actually go too, unless it's gets cold and the ideal bird hunting conditions appear.

Duck, pheasant, quail. And in between hunting seasons, Coyote. The only species in Iowa that you can (legally) hunt 24-7-365. While phesant hunting, any rabbit or squirrel that crosses paths with my Labrador and I ends up in a pot, too!

coyote is year round here too and i usually shoot dozens or more squirrels at any given time...although i would never eat one...they are ground squirrels. dont much like venison either but it fun to hunt esp. the big ones although our big muleys must be puny compared to those in nv, ut, etc. i make it into stew, chilli or whatever...now elk and moose thats the best i've eaten, but dont have those here so i have to hope for a handout from someone who is sucessful elsewhere.

Spent many years hunting geese, rabbit and deer. I just assume go out with a camera now. Not that I'm getting soft, but you can buy a dressed rabbit at the local Meijer store now. Kinda takes the novelty from hunting...

Love the mossberg 500! I have other shotguns, but when the snow flies and hunting starts, it always seems like the 500 ends up in the field with me.........

I hunt deer & turkey most but I like small game hunting too. I grew up hunting quail but the birds died out in La where I hunted. I sold my bird dogs & started deer hunting. I miss my dogs & the sport a lot. I enjoy squirrel hunting with my 22. I only take head shots. Hunting is not just about killing to me. I enjoy taking a kid hunting more than anything else. The look on their face when they make a kill is much better than a kill I make
