Hunting

Does anyone hunt? If so what do you usually hunt, and what do you hunt with? I mainly deer hunt. Use a 25-06, or a bow. Bagged a 10 point buck last year. 183# field dressed. haven't got it scored yet. Also I turkey hunt and squirrel hunt.

deer hunt every year. depending on what area im in i switch from either my Winchester 94 .30-30, or my remington 870 12 guage.
just finally got to start grouse hunting. i just use a remington 870 .20 guage

would love to try bow hunting but dont have the time or the money. i need to find a new place to deer hunt, i might have but im not too sure yet.

I hunt anything that I can. Deer, antelope, coyotes, coons, badger, muskrats, beaver, pheasants, dove, grouse, ducks, geese, rattlesnakes, rabbits, sparrows, praire dogs, porcupines, skunks, and probably some more that I can't think of. Generally, I do not have any particular species in mind when I am on a hunt. I almost always have a gun with me when I am out in the country. I enjoy the annual deer hunt and bird hunting in the fall. I also like to call coyotes, spotlight and go rattlesnake hunting. I usually use a Winchester bolt action 7mm mag, a Mossberg 12 gauge, or a 22 rifle-pistol.

I am planning on going elk hunting sometime, but it is hard to get a Black hills elk license, so it might be a while unless I go somewhere else.

Deer hunting on an annual basis for me. The weapon of choice this year is going to be a Remington 700BDL SS DM in a 30.06. I'll also take grouse when I come across them.

I bowhunt deer and javelina and always put in for Elk, but in AZ sometimes it takes 15 years just to get the oppurtunity to harvest one. I've killed a few rabbits and a javelina with my bow, but never a deer. I'd encourage those of you interested in bowhunting to try it, but it is nothing at all like rifle hunting. When I get drawn for deer rifle hunts I shoot a Remington 700 .30-06 or an old Model 70 Winchester featherweight chambered in .308. I hunt Gambel's quail real hard too, I usually take them with a 20 gauge Remington Wingmaster.

Deer hunting is my passion. I use the six weeks of bow season to scout for later hunts, although I wouldn't pass up a trophy if one came along. My primary hunting season is the two weeks after Christmas - blackpowder muzzleloader deer season. Only flintlocks with open sights are allowed. The unpredictability of the weapon is half the fun of the hunt.

Also like to hunt black bear, but bear season is just the three days before Thanksgiving, so it is pretty much secondary. I use a Winchester Model 70 in 30-06 for bear. Definitely want a follow-up shot available. Three bears taken in PA last year topped 800 pounds, BTW.

Whitetails,rabbits,turkeys.
Been using a 760 Remington pump that grandpa used for years.Shot two 17" eight points with it in Wis. this year, but I am really enjoying my most recent purchase. It's a 30-30 Contender with a red dot scope.Used it for the 1st time in Wis. this year and shot a 20" ten pointer in the neck at 35 yards.Almost as fun as bowhunting.
