Yamoto ATV's ?? Any comments

My brother-in-law stopped in a local place selling Yamoto ATV's and dirt-bikes.

He was wondering if anyone has any experience with them?

To me, they look a little cheesy... but he ain't going to be beating the heck out of it, maybe towing a large mower behind it, that's it...

They are a generic version of all terrain vehicles. Yamoto is the name they choose to have a comparrison with Yamaha.

They are generally 1/4 or 1/3 of the price off the big named brands.

As for having experience, I don't have any. But I do think it is a inexpensive way to get into the ATV scene or to learn on.

Oh, yes...

They are made by a "subsidiary of a Chinese company" - whatever that means.

I'm most likely going to tell him to buy a used Honda or Kawi...

I've never heard of them but remember, you get what you pay for. I agree with Jake00 that parts may be a problem and I think you'll be needing them if it's going to be pulling a large mower. ......... IMO....

It almost looks like Polaris had a hand in it's creation, or at least the chinese co ripped off their design. Especially with the belt cvt, and the styling of the front fenders. It's almost like a slightly reworked Predator 90.

I wouldnt even think of buying anything but one of the name brands. You will be wasting your time and your money buying parts for those chinese POS's...

I have two yamaha's and am very happy with them, I myself would shy away from the offbrands.

Thanks everyone! You all repeated what I already thought.

I lump these things in with the minibikes and dirtbikes you can buy at Pep Boys. Cute toys, but not something for real work.

Keep it coming, if anyone cares to keep adding to this.

thanks!

From what I have read in ATV forums....Yamoto is a better brand then the other one. They are meant to be a beginner ATV....say like a 70cc or so for a 7 year old.
I have a friend that owns a motorcycle/atv business and he says he sells a lot of them with little complaints from the folks that buy them.
I wouldn't take anything for the new Honda I just bought but a Yamoto atv for my 7 year old son looks pretty good to me.
