5-digit keyless entry code-HELP

does anyone know where i can find this code. just purchased a mercury mountaineer 2002 and can't seem to find this code which the owners manual says is on the vehicle somewhere

Look in the trunk area. On the turaus wagons they are under the rear glass. might also look on the driverside id plate. Is what i suggest. Hope this helps.

That's right about the time they stopped putting the codes on the vehicles- it may take a trip to a dealer to scan the ECM for the code.

If it's printed on a sticker (which I doubt, being a 2002), look under the dash, WAAAY up above the steering column. It might be on an "electronic box" with a bunch of wires coming out of it. Otherwise, polarbear's advice is best.
