yeah, then the alt went out again on the following tuesday, so that makes 3 alternators in 2 weeks, it is now monday, so lets see if this one survives the first week, that seems to be the time frame that i need to look out for, but i did discover that the new battery would run everything in the truck, at 90 mph, including the stereo, and all of my lights for 3 days, on and off!!!

the one that crapped out to begin with was a brand new unit, the one that lasted a week was a reman, the one that is on it now is a new unit, when i took the reman back to him last week, i told him that the original one was brand new, so he traded the reman for a new unit. when the guy checked the reman, he told me that the stator had gone out, and the original unit the regulator stuck open. the one that is in it now is doin aight, for now!!!

well come on- I'm gonna have a partial tear down of old87 pretty soon due to bad PRO mechanic maniac....
I gotta do somethin on the top half cause it ain't right..

I just got ahold of a 351w in need of a rebuild. Oh the possibilities. I also got ahold of alot of other parts including a c6 tranny. I hope you get your engine straight soon old87.

Are you planning on doing the topend in the vehicle or pulling the engine. I got a hoist if you need it. I also have an engine stand.
