i also have a theory, i went to start the truck today from the SEVERE beating that i gave it over the weekend, and it wouldnt fire, got to lookin at it, and the alternator had black soot around the cooling fan. when i went to touch it, it was hot to the touch, and it hadnt been driven since the day before, and also the battery had spewed acid all over the engine bay. unplugged the alt, and pulled the battery out, gave the alt. a few min to cool down, and it did. took both down to the local auto shop to have em tested, when they put the alt. on the machine, the regulator was stuck on, and it actually tripped a breaker in the machine!!!! so needless to say i got a brand new alternator, but it was worth the work, just for 3bc to say that the kids gota kick out of da beast flyin down 441 like a mad man. just to see the boys (gear heads in training) happy is worth da 3 hours it took me today!!!
Just curious....does this theory involve bail money and attorney's??
jh
Naw - not that bad
Evil, sorry to hear about the charging system.......It might be trying to get back at ya for playing the tunes all night for 2 nights........I hope the acid didn't mess much up - wish i could have helped ya with it.
acid didnt hurt it, and the alt was under warranty, so it was free, but the battery that they said was good, actually wasnt, it held a charge for about 36 hours, and left the beast stranded at the pilot gas station. i went to wally world and bought the biggest battery that they had, and it has fired fine ever since, so no worries. and just for those that might think that i have babied it since then, is sadly mistaken
