$2000 UNDER Invoice?!
Hey, business has been slow, so I have to do something. For a limited time (I'm not sure how long, but not very long), you can order from me any 2006 F-Series truck (150-550), for $500 below invoice, and I'll guarantee the current $1500 rebate, for a net cost of $2000 below invoice. Same offer goes for Ranger, Explorer, E-Series and Expedition, which breaks down like this:
Range & E-Series: rebate $1000 plus $500 under = $1500 under invoice
Explorer: rebate $2000 plus $500 under = $2500 under invoice
Expedition: rebate $3000 plus $500 under = $3500 under invoice
If any of those rebates go down before your truck arrives, I'll make up the difference. If the rebate goes UP, you'll get the higher rebate. If you qualify for AQHA, College Grad, Commercial Connection or any of Ford's private offers, you'll get those, too.
Offer applies to in-stock and order only, no dealer trades. Since I have virtually NO inventory, this is pretty much an "order-only" deal. But if I happen to have it in stock, what the heck. Out-of-state buyers pay the $55 temporary-tag fee only (no New York State sales tax), but we've been warned by our governor that may go up October 1st.
Frankly folks, the Friends and Family offer killed my business here. Now that the 2006s are off that plan, maybe it's time to consider a trip to Victor, NY. What's that guy say on the Men's Wearhouse commercials? "You're gonna like how we do business."

Hang in there...
I wonder if Ernie has any sort of addendum to Jeff's announcement.... Ernie?

EDIT - Jeff, did the F&F plan hurt your business by taking away sales from you, personally, because instead of using the FTE program to buy from you, folks could buy locally and get the F&F pricing? Or did it affect you in a different way?

I'm nearing trigger pulling time on an order, I know what F-150 I would like to buy right down to the last option. If you get any indication of how long this offer lasts, please let us know.
I've never purchased a new vehicle. Goose bumps...

I just like the idea of not screwing around with some guy I know nothing about. I'm glad I have found this site.

And I'm sitting here waiting for a phone call from a customer flying in from Alaska to pick up his 'Vette. re: F&F. Killed the FTE part of the biz, but have been stoopid busy through the whole thing until this week. Not surprising, because September is usually a crappy month in the car biz (school's in, model years change, folks looking for leftovers that don't exist- this is just typical).
I didn't go on vacation (actually sent the wife and kids off without me), and delivered a lot of iron. A lot of bowtie iron, I might add- GM threw enough money out there to clean the lots out. Also sold a lot of used- some really nice trades came in, and personally that's where Ithink some of the best buys were.
The wierd thing is that Isold more 'Vettes in the last three months than I did all of last year, and they didn't have anything special going on, rebates, discounts, or otherwise.
First Ford stunk it up by offering the employee discounts which fueled my desires, but once that offer passed, reality set in and my desire to purchase wained a bit. I figured that next March/April will roll around soon enough.
Here you go, stirring up the fire again! I called my wife this morning after I read your post and she reminded me of our "plan". She tries to be rational and tells me that when the time is right, the deals will be there! Darn her rational side!
I have a brother in OH, so I figure I can take two weeks off, fly to NY, pick up the truck, then drive to OH for a visit/show off new truck, then cruise back down to SC. Next spring!
Michael
P.S. The way I price it out, you will get me an '06 F-250, V10, Ext Cab, 2WD, etc for less than $30k, brand new!!! That's a deal!
1) If we can use past history as a guide, Ford just LOVES to raise the price of these trucks throughout the model year. The same '05 ordered in the spring of 2005 cost about $750 more than if it had been ordered in the fall of 2004. Once the order is placed with Ford, your price is locked in, regardless of how much Ford raises the price after that. With the major increases in fuel and steel prices we've seen lately, I doubt we'll see any price DECREASES in the near future. Your "plan" of waiting till spring will, most likely, only cost you money.
2) You can place the order now and take delivery as late as December, which puts you just 3 months from March. With the changes in tax code, that might be beneficial for you. The IRS now allows you to deduct either state income tax OR state sales tax paid from your federal income. If the total sales tax paid is greater, only you can decide if you're better off taking that in '05 or waiting to do it in '06. Of course, caution needs to be exercised when taking delivery of a TWO-WHEEL-DRIVE truck from a dealership in December that just happens to be in a city that gets more snow than any other in the U.S. (I might not tell the wife that one...)
3) Lie I said, I will guarantee the rebate to be at least $1500, and if it goes up by the time your truck is built, you'll get the higher rebate. We do a lot of things differently here at Van Bortel, but I think that one's the biggest when it comes to placing an order. You know exactly the most you'll be paying, with the possibility your cost could be less.
