Somone cued me in on this and I must ask how do you square away the TTL with your state? I've never bought a vehicle out of state and I'm just curious how it works.
When you want to license it where you live, just go in with your paperwork from Ford/and the finance company, hand it to them with your checkbook. They'll tell you what the damage will be. They'll be very happy to take your money.
Jeff will surely reply with the full answer, but I've got a deal going with him (I live in Ohio), and the tax and title will be done here in Ohio. In my state, I think I have 30 days to get the paperwork done, so I'll go to NY to buy the truck, and come back to Ohio where I'll take care of the tax/title.
Mud Doc and Mr. PC have pretty much covered it. You'd leave here with the Manufacturers Statement of Origin (MSO), which is what your state will need to generate a title. There will also be paperwork showing that you purchased the truck out-of-state and paid no tax at the time of purchase. Your state should charge you the same tax as if you bought it new from a dealer in your state, except there won't be any paperwork or documentation fees that your local dealer would normally tack on to the selling price.
What about the $750 Katrina Relief are you honoring that on top of your current offer?
Yes, as long as you resided in one of the counties/ parishes that Ford has on their list when Katrina hit. You don't have to be living there or title the truck with that address now, but we do have to have some proof that you lived there.
My house is in area code 70043 and I can provide proof of mortgage or even like a bill with my address. What about a license? Would that be enough? When does this offer end? In your honest opinion is there a huge difference between the 2006 & 2007 Super Duty models?
Not to sound ignorant but how do you go about ordering a truck from you? Should I show up in person, give you my information over the phone, via email? Should I give you the specs on what I want? I'd prefer to test drive it before I buy and I know that you are short on inventory but when do you think you'll be getting another large shipment of trucks?
