$2000 UNDER Invoice?!
Van Bortel Ford has already agreed that, no matter what the Shelby is priced at, we'll sell them at MSRP and not a penny more. We'll get maybe, if we're lucky, 5 Shelbys for 2007. I work with a few other salespeople that think it's fun to take Shelby orders; whether we get 'em or not apparently doesn't concern them. Right now, we have 26 (that's right, TWENTY-SIX) 2007 Shelby orders on the books. That means there will be at least 21 people p***ed at us in a couple years. I don't know why this is allowed to go on, but I won't have any part of it.
as for me personally, i have paid msrp for one vehicle and was burned terribly. ordered 03 mach 1 in july 02 for msrp. as far as i know mine was the second to arrive in sonoma county(nor-cal) in early jan 03. the first one in the county sold for 5k over, so i felt i got a decent deal. until ford decided to make twice as many mach 1's as originally planned. and then could not sell them so ford put them on huge discounts. lesson learned im going back to buying cars my normal route, order at invoice and take any discounts that are available.
We're not even worrying about Shelby's yet- we're still delivering orders for Mustang GT's taken in '05.

-Not sure on the stereo. Would like to end up with an Audiophile type rig, but is not available for XLT, of course.
There are other details that I don't think mean anything for price. I've probably left something out.
Anyhoo, I think I should take your generous offer--

Basically, "The Plan" involves rolling the monthly payments of the Explorer over to my new toy. We are going to purchase a fifth wheel later next year. Right now I am paying $500/month on the Explorer, and it will be paid off NLT March 06. We are going to time the purchase of the F-250 so that the payments just continue, except they will be on my toy.
I will be on the phone with you as soon as we get past Christmas. That should get the timing about right. I do encourage you to contact me toward the end of the year if you foresee any issues with ordering as I have read on these forums quite a bit about a changeover from the present body style to a newer '07.
As far as the 4wd vs 2wd, I drove an '06 F-250 Ext. Cab, V10 4wd this past Monday. Very impressive. It was optioned EXACTLY like the ones I build constantly on the Ford website (except the 4wd). Thank goodness it was silver, as that, white and black are the colors I will not purchase! I may be swayed toward the 4wd when the time is right. I just live in an area where I don't see any advantages, it will not see dirt, and I don't want to open that can of worms (2wd vs. 4wd) on this forum :-)

can you see me at my desk, making the sign of the cross as I read your post? Unless you can find someone that will buy your '04 outright for what they can buy a brand-new '05 F-150 Lariat for, I'd wait. It's gonna take a few months before the "Family Plan Blip" works its way out of the market.
I did think that once the snow starts falling and the 05s are sold out that my 04 would gain some of its value back.
The diesels just seem to hold their value a bit better and I was just wondering if the 2K under invoice would make up the difference in lost value from the family plan freeding frenzy.
Thanks for the info ;-)
First Ford stunk it up by offering the employee discounts which fueled my desires, but once that offer passed, reality set in and my desire to purchase wained a bit. I figured that next March/April will roll around soon enough.
Here you go, stirring up the fire again! I called my wife this morning after I read your post and she reminded me of our "plan". She tries to be rational and tells me that when the time is right, the deals will be there! Darn her rational side!

P.S. The way I price it out, you will get me an '06 F-250, V10, Ext Cab, 2WD, etc for less than $30k, brand new!!! That's a deal!
I'm in a similar position. My wife has given me the go ahead to get an '06 F-250 Crew Cab WHEN she returns to work from extended maternity leave. This deal is making it awfully tempting to buy now.
Jeff, you never know when you'll get a PM from me! It might be sooner than I even think! What kind of delivery time do you see on placed orders on F-250's? 2-3 months?

When I build the truck on Ford's website, it requires that I put a zip code in. I have been putting my local zip code in. If I order from/through you, do I need to put in a Victor, NY zip code when I build it?
Thanks,
Michael
P.S. It looks like a nice relaxing trip from SC up to Victor, NY, then over to Columbus, OH to visit my little brother! I am looking forward to it.
