Sometimes an upstart company can make it HUGE.......Kubota tractors were sold out of garages 25 years ago and today they may be the most respected name in small and medium tractors.
On the other hand, there's companies like Yugo who failed miserably.....why anyone would copy a Fiat is beyond me!!
I guess it depends if you are willing to be the alpha tester.
Or like post #5 mentioned, you can buy 2 or 3 of 'em for the price of a Honda. So if they run a year or two and you toss 'em what are you out??
Are Kubota tractors made in china? lol.. there is a difference between an upstart company and a company that's first business expenditure is to buy the competitors product so they can duplicate it and have 8 year old kids making it...On the bright side you could save money on maintenace costs by buying all the tools to work on it from harbor frieght!
You're 100% correct about the China comment............but don't forget what a lot of people were saying about Japanese stuff not that long ago.
I haven't studied Kubota history but I wouldn't be surprised if their first effort was a copy of some established brand.
Currently there's an onslaught of Chinese tractors coming over that some people are swearing by; Branson; Montana (may be Korean) Kyoti etc....
LMAO @ the Harbor Freight comment..........but I always find myself going back....hoping against hope that maybe this ONE tool will actually work more than one time. (even though I do have a 4 1/2" disc grinder going on 10 years old that actually still works!!!)
I haven't seen that brand of ATV or dirt bikes before. But isn't that the name on some of those big construction vehicles? I think I've seen that same name on the rolling track diggers in my neighborhood, building a new road. They are the orange and creme colored construction rigs. If they can build quality construction equipment, maybe their ATVs and dirt bikes are worthy as well?
Daewoo built great excavators and bucket loaders- how were there cars? I can remember the lot attendants pulling those off the trailer and straight into the shop for recalls.
me and my fiance bought a yamoto atv 110 christmas last year for 8 yr old nephew. the engine is a replica honda generation for late 80's early nineties so i been told. the engine and trans share the same lubricant 10w30 engine oil. so far put a starter on it under warranty, serviced 4 or five times, and one month ago had to completely disassemble atv to get frame welded under trans. same time had to replace left tie rod, driveshaft boot, gear indicators and neutral safety switch to the tune of 70 bucks and roughly 7 hours work of my own. i not real familiar with atvs but knew the frame should not have cracked where it did easily. found out nephew jumping ditches. after this abuse and being less than half the price of name brand atvs i have to say i am impressed. for a kid they are great, for serious users not my pic of the litter.
ps keep a bottle of red loctite handy, you'll need it!!!!

Excellent post!
I'm getting the idea these are "junior" pieces, even though their 250 ATV if a pretty big thing... but haven't seen one in person.
Yeah, they are half the price of a brand-name... that's something.
But I think he'd be better off with a used Honda.
I'm Honda biased, owning two Enduros over the last 22 years. An XL600 and an NX650 (Dominator for all you Aussies). They sure needed loctite in certain places boy, think about a 600-650CC single-cylinder 4-stroke. The NX vibrated the license-plate/taillight assembly so bad it cracked the metal tubing hold it together - I gas-welded it and it's held for 15 years...
thats probably not a bad idea. these things are strong though the 110 without goverened down was pushing twenty or twenty five wound out with me 6' 210 riding it.
My WIFE bought the 250 quad and the big two seater buggy for from pep boys pretty cheap. For the money we have had a good time in them.We are not hard riders but did manage to hurt the buggy a little. My daughters 9 and she would rather drive the quad than the buggy.
I think they are ok for the price. If we bought a honda or polaris I would be out riding by myself because we could only afford one but we got two for about the same price.
Yamoto's are still not as good as a Japanese name brand, family down the road bought 3 of them (110cc atv's) all were broken after light riding and running up and down the road a few times. E-Ton is the only brand of knock off I trust, because its just a re-bodied version of the polaris and yamaha's of a few years ago. I still think bikes are better though. If you gave me a quad, i'd sell it and buy parts for my bike.
