Should I get an Edelbrock 750 electric choke for my 460 or some other Holley carb. How is the Edelbrock 750's electric choke different from my current Motocraft's auto choke?

I don't have anything on mine except a motorcraft 2 barrel and i am going to put a edelbrock on mine because i have been told that for street you want edelbrock because it's easier to tune and it gets better gas mileage than a holley of the same size, but i have been told for drag racing it's hard to catch a holley, i think it's really personal preference.
Keep in mind the edelbrock is a less than spectacular copy of the carter AFB. Have you considered looking at some Carter carbs ? They are supposed to be very tune-able, and they are the real thing, not a cheap immitation. DF
Yes, Edelbrocks are easier to work on. Yes, Holleys are faster. And yes, myself and others on this board have recently bought a new Edelbrock carb that was a POS and never ran right. My truck ran better with an old worn down 750 with a blown power valve than it did with its shiny new 750 edel. I'd advise you stick with a Holley. Dino said it best in another thread "Edelbrock should stick with what they do best- intake manifolds". Everybody has their preferences, and I'm just relating a little experience to help you judge for yourself.
If your knuckles ain't bleeding you did something wrong.

I have had very little luck with the Carter AFB and even less luck with that edelbrock pile of a copy. I bought the whole "performer" kit for a 351 a few years ago. The brackets were made out of soup cans, The intake was Great, The carb was a POS. I wound up throwing the cheap pile of pot metal carb through the garage window and stuck a 650 DP/DF Holley on. The Holley is very easy to tune. I would recomend installing a power valve saver as any little burp kills the power valve. Just MHO. hope it helps.
