My 2001 EB Expedition from time to time has a dead battery. A couple of times the headlamps were on without the switch being turned on. I replaced the headlamp switch. Last night the truck was outside and after a heavy rain (don't know if that's part of the problem) I saw that the park & tail lamps were on.
Before I had a chance to go out to the truck, they went out. Any ideas?
Thanks for the suggestion. We got just over an inch of rain and there wasn't a drop of water anywhere inside (up under dash, carpet, under carpet, etc.) According to my tech manual the GEM doesn't control lamps, can that be correct?
I just sent my truck in for Windshield Leaking and Fuse Panel was corroded. I guess this is a problem with the sela around the windshield.

THE GEM CONTROLS MULTIPLE FUNCTIONS, INCLUDING, AMONG OTHER THINGS, WIPERS AND LIGHTING.
this should be warrantied I think so I called to complain...oh well we will see what happens...Nick
From searching the tech bulletins that the early 01's had a keyless entry pad that leaked water and shorted out. I replaced mine and have watched through three rain storms without having the lights go on without the switch. I have my fingers crossed and am hopeful tahtwas the problem
I thought the problem was fixed until last night, first time in the garage since spring, moderate rain, this morning the park/tail lights were on, battery almost dead, the only thing I did different was park in the garage and left the vehicle unlocked. I tried the keyless entry and it didnot effect anything. I locked the truck with the key fob and the lights went out
