Well I got my 5.6/10k mod done today, was very easy and cheap ($6.00). Wanted to do a programmer/chip mod but funds are low, and still needed to cure my modititis. Feels like I could run around all day with the 10k, idle is fine. Is this OK? Thanks also for all the great info that makes mods like these so easy, aloha.
With the 10k, slightly better throttle response from a stop and a little better bottom end power. After 50 mph seems about same as w/o mod. Can let engine idle w/o having to switch off mod. 5.6k has much more power at the bottom end but same situation when getting around 50 mph. Idle is very rough with a funny choppyness when getting off the throttle. Need to switch off mod at idle. I have a reed switch that I was gonna install to cutout mod when off throttle, probably gonna install that tomorrow.
From what I've read here they can be stacked (someone correct me if I'm wrong). But I'm gonna remove it when I get the funds to do a chip. I feel that the 10k mod is a cheap/good alternative to doing a chip/programmer, but the real deal is a chip, aloha.
