Please help a newbe with auto trans

I've done plenty of manuals but am new to swapping out an auto trans. I'm replacing the C6 in my '81 F250. Just bought a used one that is supposedly good. I'm gonna clean it up and change whatever seals I can before install.

I really don't have much of a clue when it comes with auto trans, can you guys tell me what seals are easily replaceable so I'll know what to order?

OK forget the above question. I'll just change the front seal. What I DO need to know is do I have to fill the torque converter with fluid before install or just fill the tranny after?
