strage air sound when back window is down

02 F350 Crewcab Long bed PSD
recent trip down road, had two people in back of crew cab and when they would roll down the back window there was an unplesent ear hurting sound. the best way to explain is kinda like sonic pulses. at first i thought it was just the truck noise bouncing off the gurad rial but it continued after passing the end of the guard rial. roll up the window and it would go away. roll down the front windows and you would not hear it or feel it. is this just some type of turbulance created from such a long truck?

I've been in Explorers and Expeditions and they all do the same thing.

when my dad was test driving a BMW 740il, he i put my window down some, and the lady said that because the car was "sealed" so well, that the pressure couldnt escape, so it made the sound. i just crack all 4 windows and there is now problem. if you have the right rear down, it usually works to crack the opposite (front left) window.

I think it's about the same as a whistle, only a much, much, larger volume in which to resonate. Thus, a much, much, lower frequency.
