Just picked up for free a 1979 351m. Found out it has been rebuilt once before. It needs it again. My question is on the front of the block was a tag from an engine builder that said, bored .030, main .010, rod .010. Can I do another rebuild on this block and I know you should not bore the 351m over.040. If i bore it at .040 is there problems i need to be aware of..???? Plz. hlp..
You probably need to find a fresh block. 0.040" is listed as the max allowable overbore for that engine. 0.040" may not clean up the bores this time. There have been people that have successfully bored them 0.060" tho.
