I found the problem causing the noise in the front end.
The front sway bar bushings are shot!!! All of them, and the sway bar has shifted over and is resting against the leaf springs. Hence the loud metal to metal clanging when I hit bumps. So I'm on Summit's website and I need to know if I need the 1", 1 1/8", or the 1 1/4" bushing set? I have no idea how big the swaybar diameter is on my truck and I don't have a dial indicator. Thanks
Since it's 12:18 here in TX, I'm not going outside. But if you don't have an answer for this by tommorrow, I'll gladly grab my calipers and measure my father in laws next door.
Thanks Cookie, I really didn't want to get caught under my father in law's truck in my underwear. I was fixin to go over there cause I don't want to go to bed.
Well, I could have explained it to him, but he's quick with a camera, and I don't want to have to explain it to any relatives. It would have been funny, but I'll find a laugh elsewhere. I can see it now, my pic and a quote "How much do you love YOUR truck?" LOL.
Oh DUH!!! You said sway bar....I was thinking track bar. Sorry, got leveling kits on the brain tonight.
Your sway bar probably is the 1 1/4". You don't need a dial indicator, just hold a tape measure up against it. I think the F-350's from 88-97 have the 1 1/8", and all the 4x4 Superduty's have the 1 1/4"

Sweet! I just ordered the 1". I'll call Summit tomorrow and change the order.
