First off.. it is a 78 SC 2wd 400 with the Camper Special package. I need to replace the bushings on the front and back sway bars, I have searched everywhere looking for what the standard size is for the Sway bar diameter. When I look up parts on the usual parts sites for my year, I can order bushings that are for 7/8, 1, 1 1/16, or a 1 1/8 inch bar.
Do I just need to go measure my bar diameter and hope I got all the 40 years of crud off or is there a standard size?
It's best to get under and measure your bars. Better to be sure than to be guessing a "standard size" It's common for many vehicles to have different sizes listed for the bushings.
