Crooked bed

Recently as I was looking at my truck from the rear I noticed that the bed is crooked, it is higher on the right. It also gets worse when I inflate my air bags.

Anyone know what I should look at to try and level it out?

Thanks

Mine is the same way . . . it is only by about an inch or two but the tailgate is definitely not level. Everything looks in order on the chassis, springs, etc. . . .truck runs straight, etc but it does annoy me a bit.

My 1990 F150 did the same it was in the rear leaf spring bushings.
I also had a broken rear main leaf spring broken as well.
Hope this helps.

It could also be the frame is twisted. Should be right around $1000 at a truck frame shop if that's what it is.

yep i would look at your springs and bushings. also measure various point on frame and body to the ground to see if its body or frame that is off. also your fuel is all center and left so it could be that unless it doesn't matter how much fuel you have.
can't tell you why it would be worse with your bags. could seperate the bags from each other and inflate them accordingly to level it.

keep us updated

I have noticed mine was off a little after crossing some creeks and diches before,,one time it was leaning to the right, the next it was leaning to the left. After a couple days it looked straight again. I have the LB CC also, I believe they have to build some flex into the frames and etc. or something would break when you drive thru creeks or anything that twists the frame with a long wheel base truck like these. I could be way off here, but only makes since after seeing mine be crooked and then straight again a few days later.

Here's the bulletin on this issue:

99-05 F-SuperDuty Rear Suspension Lean:
This applies to rear suspension lean only. The truck needs to be parked on a level surface with no load (or at least loaded evenly) and all tires inflated evenly. Inspect for spring damage or shackle bushing wear. Measure vertically from the lowest point of the wheel rim (not from the ground) to the wheel lip. If the measurment is within 3/5" from side to side, no action is required. If the measurement is greater than 3/4", measure the gap from the top of the axle to the rebound bumper bracket. If this measurment is within 3/4", inspect the body mounts and have the frame checked. If the measurement is between 3/4-1", install shim 3C3Z-5A300-AA on the low side, between the spring spacer and spring seat. If the measurement is between 1-1.75", install shim 5C3Z-5742-AA on the low side. If the measurement is greater than 2", replace the spring. Install longer U-bolts if necessary.
TSB 04-23-6

Hope that helps you guys,

Austin

Of course that helps . . . now only if I could measure that accurately! I'll get out the tape measure tomorrow and inspect those bushings!

I hear you on that! You mean you don't have the latest electron laser particle beam measuring device? LOL
Every Ford I've ever owned leaned/sagged on the driver side. I've always just shimmed the rear springs.
