Autozone is closed for the night, so gotta wait til tommorrow to get codes. My check engine light just came on. I also noticed that the temp gague started to read colder than normal. 96 Ranger 2.3L. Any Ideas?
I don't know about your ranger, but my 1996 F150 check light came on, I took it to Advance Auto and they pulled the codes for free. It showed both of my O2 sensors were malfunctioning. I had my mechanic replace both. He said the light still did not go out. He found a 3rd O2 sensor and replaced that. The light went out for a short time but came back on. So I am at a loss.

You have a (hopefully unintentionally) lousy mechanic who should have done REAL diagnosis based on the codes given rather than just toss in/out parts.
The downstream sensor only checks for cat convertor flow. Nothing really to go wrong there. The upstreams suffer when they are dirty, but other than that, they need to be used for diagnosis only.
Depending on whether the code showed the O2's signaling lean or rich (that is diferent than "slow" O2 or NO O2 signal...), you could have vucuum hose leaks, intake or head gasket leaks going on, fuel filter or fuel pump issues, etc, etc....

The codes showed P0141 & P0155. After the sensors were replaced, the codes then showed only, P0155. Further reading into the code for P0155 with his diagnostic machine showed a fault ground.
I swear that those dummy lights pop up just for fun sometimes, try rebooting your computer, unhook your battery for 15 minutes and then hook it back up. If the light still insists that something is wrong, THEN take it the mechanic, before they hit you up with repairs you really don't need.
