Well Ive been fabricating up a way to mount a 3rd pair of lights on the Randy Ellis bar. Ive got it done and now Ive just got to wire them up. So now there are 6 total lights on the front. The KCs and a pair of PIAA 540s for the high beam and a pair of PIAA 540 fogs for the low beam.
Wow ok the wiring turned into more of a chore as well. The wires werent long enough so I had to cut them and add length. I wired the switch for the bottom PIAA pair into the wire that triggers the KC switch which is spliced into the high beam line. This setup seems to be working great.
I added pics of the lights completed in my gallery. Oh I am going to add loom to the PIAAs from the lights to the bumper.
Yeah, wiring never seems to go as smooth as you'd like. The wires are always too short and the directions always make it seem SOOOOOO much easier that it is really gonna be.
Took a peek at your gallery. That's a good looking setup.

The other thing you can do and this will take ANY additional load off your headlight circuit is take that jumper and connect it to the actual power wire that is going to your aux lights. The current required to activate the relay is almost nil, so it's pretty insignificant either way.
Just don't do like I do and blow off disconnecting the battery all the time. I ALWAYS, yes I'm a little dumb, leave it hooked up and I ALWAYS shock myself. Yeah, like I said, DUMB.
That's a nice setup cook. I like how you added the 3rd set of lights on the bar, looks good. I might add a set of low power fogs, for on road use, using your idea (hope you don't mind) since I can't run my KC's on the street. Like I said before, looks great!
yeah it actually looks great 2ksb. I run all these lights on the road. The KCs and bottom PIAAs are just driving lights thought which add to high beams instead of true offroad pencil beams. The ligts on the outside come on with the lowbeams and are just yellow fogs. Id like something brighter with the lows so that may change. I think I can play more with the aiming though.
please be carefull with them all on.your pulling more amps then the alternator puts out.also i hope you used solder or the new 3m crimps that have heat shrink on them for your connects. they crimp on then heat the tube and the glue seals out any water that may enter. wally world has them cheaper then any where.
your ride is looking great. good luck.
with every thing on you are very close to maxing out already. if not past. put a meter on and messure it out for your own safty and remember the relay dose not need what it pulls to turn them on and has a smaller fuse. your pulling full battery though the relay not what the fuse says. maybe 30 amps per set of 2.
play safe and do a draw test with every thing on.
