Carb removal question
I went to remove my carb for a rebuild today for some leaks that it has. When I got to unhook the throttle components I found that I ran into a dead end. There are multiple parts that do not seem to have any "unconnectable" parts. They look as though any dismantling of them will be permanent which definately would not be good.

Need to disconnect the (using my lingo) "yellow thing" and the "black microphone lookin' thingy." My haynes manual does not say anything about how to take this crap off.
Second question. On the choke there is this line that I have to remove(I think?!?!). In the picture it is the left side of the choke. http://members.***.net/platypus-x/choke.jpg Not too knowledgeable but I believe it's the choke!!! Is it just a matter of unscrewing it? Is it under pressure? How much?
Help!
I want to get this done as soon as I can. It will now probably have to wait until next week but I still want to get it done.
Any help, tips, suggestions, whatever is greatly appreciated.

there is a clip towards the carb to get the yellow thing off-put your hand over it so it doesnt spring off.it is called the kickdown rod.the wire on the choke will simply unclip.there is a coil spring type thing in the housing.you loosen the screws to adjust.sometimes they break.the other thing is your idle stop solinoid {i think} and i dont know much more than that
Now, on the passengers side, where the choke is just unplug the electric wire, then looking at the carb from the passengers side there is your choke tube on the left of the black choke cap, just unscrew the fitting where it screws onto the carb.
BEFORE you take your carb off exactly where is your leak? you might not need a complete rebuild right now.
Good luck with rebuilding the carb.
I can't emphasize this enough!!!
Go to a REAL parts store with your carb and get a rebuilt unit. An experienced counter man should be able to set you straight on all of the little adjustments and adaptations.
