On a V-8 truck the radiator is mounted in the rear most set of holes. The front fender supports are bolted on using the same bolts as the radiator. When the radiator is moved forward, as on a six cyl, where do the fender supports bolt. It appears to me that if they are moved forward, they will not bolt up to the fender. Can someone let me know how they go together?
Thanks,
Don
Yes it is a '50 F-1. I have the radiator mounted in the forward set of holes. All is good with that. The problem is the fender brace. On the V-8 trucks they bolted on with the same bolts as the radiator. Where do they bolt to when the radiator is in the forward set of holes? Do they just bolt to the inner fender, using the rear set of holes?
Is there some reason they won't bolt to the radiator brace thru the front set of holes? That way everything would line up just like it does in the V8 - only 2.5" forward.
MtFlat,
The brackets will bolt up as you suggest, but the outside end that bolts to the fender does not line up with the holes. That's what has me puzzled.

Hmmmm, the 49 F3 fenders on my 48 F1 have a bolt that holds the lower fender extension to the upper fender in the right location for the 6 cyl setup. It would mean removing that bolt and attaching the fender support at that hole.
